The Big 1

Not having many female friends, it was fun to watch my guy friends try their best to interact with my child. The goo goo gagas, the high pitch voices, the funny faces, the peek a boos, etc…. Seeing these tough guys in a whole new light was really quite endearing. I was grateful for all of them. I also had my mom and “dad” (step dad) help a lot as well. They were completely in love with this new addition. A bunch of the guys would stop by to hang out and it was nice because I wasn’t alone. I wasn’t interested in finding that “someone”, so I wasn’t dating or anything. I was just focused on my new responsibilities. It was a lot to handle but I couldn’t wait to get back to work. I missed it and my coworkers, we had fun every shift. It wouldn’t be much longer because the baby will be one year old soon. For the baby’s first birthday, I had planned this huge party to celebrate. A lot of family members (the ones I left to be with my mom) said that it would be a waste of money because the baby wouldn’t even remember it or wouldn’t have a good time, blah, blah, blah. I didn’t care, as usual. It was my money, my child, my decision. You don’t have to come if you don’t want to, it doesn’t matter to me. Even if my baby wasn’t going to remember their first birthday party, I would. And that meant a lot. I would take lots of pictures and video as proof. So when they got a little older I could show the pictures and videos.
