So the little one has a bad habit of not putting her toys away when she is done and for the past couple of days I had been telling her to put them away. These toys have just been sitting there in a pile not being played with or even given a second thought. Since the little one has been brushing it off, I decided to teach her a little lesson. I took all the toys that were not in there place, and stuffed them in a box and hid it in the closet. She must have noticed that the pile of toys was no longer there because she asked me if I put them away. I told her that I threw them away because she didn’t listen to me when I told her to put them away. The look on her face was priceless. She let out a, “WHAT?!!!!, why would you do that? You could have just put them away”. “Excuse me! I could have put them away?! No! Those are your toys and your responsibility”. She then says, “This is why I wish we had a maid!” and she stormed off. What the hell?!!! I am not raising a self entitled brat. Where is she getting this from? I decided not to tell her that her toys are safe in a box hidden in the closet. I don’t know if I want to now. Gonna have to think this one through. Any suggestions??
