Lucky For Me, Or Unlucky For Her

So, I’m not sure if one would call it luck or unlucky.  Either way, the word contains luck in it.  Okay, remember, the little one volunteered me for the read out loud thingy at her school on Friday?  Well, lucky for me, or unlucky for her.  I get a call from the school nurse on Thursday saying the little one wasn’t feeling well and that she threw up and needed to be picked up.  I took care of her all of Thursday so that she’d be able to go back Friday and I could do the volunteer thing that I damn sure didn’t volunteer for.  Didn’t happen.  The little one ended up getting fever late Thursday night and was burning up by Friday morning.  I gave her fever reducer to try and help with the situation until we could get her seen at her Doctor’s later that day.  I called the school to let them know that the little one would be out and then I personally called the teacher to let her know what was going on and that unfortunately I wasn’t going to be able to participate.  She was very understanding and wished the little one well.  Phew!!  I had mixed feelings about the whole thing all day.  Part of me was sooooooo happy that I wouldn’t have to make a fool of myself in front of the little one’s entire class and part of me was a little disappointed because I know how much the little one was looking forward to me reading out loud to all her class mates.  Well, now that that’s over and done with, I just hope the little one doesn’t decide to volunteer me for anything else without consulting with me first.  We’ll see.  Hahaha.  As far as how the little one is feeling, she has been pretty much laid up in bed.  Doctor said she has a respiratory infection and sent us on our way with a prescription for antibiotics and and inhaler to help open up her airway.  Yeah, she is definitely soaking it up.  Mom, can you?  Mom, would you?  Mom, I need.  Mom, mom, mom.  She knows she is spoiled and she is super proud of it.  I blame the hubby.  Hahaha.  😉

    • Haha. Lucky him. He’s got his hands full. 😉 Yeah, I rarely get sick. I think because I’m such a germ o phobe. I’m constantly washing my hands and wiping things down with Clorox wipes. But, the hubby on the other hand, he said he wasn’t feeling so good. Dropped down on the bed and he was out. We’ll see how he feels when he wakes up.
