I Don’t Want To Grow Up

Being a grown up with lots of responsibilities was definitely something I couldn’t have imagined would be so stressful and exhausting. As a child, you really don’t know the struggle. All you know is eat, play, sleep and do it all over again tomorrow. I always say, “If I could go back in time, I would be 15.”, I thought that was a perfect age for me because I was still young enough to play and have fun, yet old enough to make my own money with a work permit and I could drive with a licensed adult as long as I had my drivers permit. But still not have any of the adult responsibilities. It was perfect. But noooooo, we have to grow up and be just like every other responsible adult in the world. That’s just life. When I was young, I couldn’t wait to be grown. Now that I’m grown, I wish I could be young again. I tell my kids to enjoy youth because you’re only young for a little while, but you’re old for the rest of your life.

  1. I hear you. I feel that way so often and could kick myself for wishing away my childhood so that I could be grown up. I also tell kids to enjoy it now because it is such a short part of their life

    • Yes indeed. But as you know, kids want to be grown because they don’t want to be told what to do. That was my reason for wanting to be an adult. Be on my own, live my own life, do what I want, when I want, how I want, where I want and why I want. You know how it is. Haha.

  2. Oh the list goes on . . . If I knew then. Hind sight is 50/50.

  3. Just Plain Ol' Vic

To be quite honest, I would not want to go back to my childhood. For me the most fun was in my mid 20s. Recently divorced, making great money and no debt. All that equaled a few years that were pretty epic!

    • Sounds fantastic, except for the divorce of course. I’m sorry. Epic tales are awesome. 😄
