Holding On To Let Go
I found a candle to light the dark,
to help me see where you once stood.
Upon my soul you’ve left your mark,
a constant reminder that you’re no good.
A scar in place of a heart no more,
eyes filled with nothing but empty space,
only a picture left to adore,
a missing piece where once was your face.
Your smile can no longer tell a lie,
for what used to be love has now known sorrow,
your poison kiss has left me to die,
surely I will mourn tomorrow.
