I wonder if there is such a book on how to be normal. What exactly is normal. Who gets to say what normal is and what it isn’t? Is anyone normal? Why must there be so many labels? I think that’s what messes with our minds to. We aim to be a certain label instead of just trying to be happy with who we are and if we fail then we don’t feel worthy or don’t feel like we belong. It’s just wanting to be accepted and feeling like a part of something. Well, that’s the way I see it I guess.

This is a thoughtful post. It’s true that most of us just want to fit in, just be part of the crowd. Strange as it seems, it actually takes courage just to be yourself!

    • Sometimes I think even that is difficult when people don’t accept who you are or want to change you and it just leaves you feeling lost and confused about who you are or should be. But you are right, it is a courageous task to be yourself. Thank you for your kind words.

        You’re welcome.

  2. There was a saying in the 60’s, ‘who are the brain police?’ Kind of reminds me of that.

    • Just the word normal is so hard to live up to. It’s just so confusing. I remember being a young child, I was told to act a certain way when we had guests and when they’d leave I could act like my normal self. Well, if being my normal self is wild and crazy, why is it not acceptable to someone else? Because they have a different meaning for what normal is? Makes no sense. Who are the brain police? 😁
